The Institute for Machine Tools and Industrial Management (iwb), Technische Universität München, was successful in the approval of the proposal "RFID in the production of composite material".

The CoTeSys researchers participating in this new project hope the results can soon be integrated in CoTeSys-projects, namely in the Cognitive Factory.

The aim of the proposal is, on the one hand, to evaluate a sensible use of RFID-technology in the production process of composite material. On the other hand, the application of the RFID-technology on and within the composite materials is looked into.

The "Bayerische Forschungsstiftung" a foundation from the Bavarian state government promotes the collaboration of science and industry. It approved the proposal "RFID in the production of composite material". The co-operating institutes apart from the iwb, the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits (IIS) and numerous well-known industrial partners are planning to start their collaboration in the coming months.
