Automatica 2012 successfull for CoTeSys

James making Popcorn and the robot IURO trying to guess the right age of the visitors were the two exhibits at the CoTeSys booth that always attracted crowds of curious fair trade visitors. According to the fair’s management, Automatica is the world's largest trade fair for robotics with 31,000 visitors from more than 100 countries.

CoTeSys was not only present with a booth and demonstrations, but also with other activities: Dr. Uwe Haass gave a talk in the Automatica Forum entitled “On the way to learning and interactive Service robots”. He was also participating in the panel discussion on service robots.

CoTeSys members were further involved in the demonstration of the NAO robot (Prof. Dongheui Lee) and the Saphari project (TUM IAS Group) at the DLR booth. In the Saphari project (Safe and Autonomous Physical Human-Aware Robot Interaction) the robot was building, together with a human close by, a wooden toy train track. The CoTeSys satellite project CustomPacker was also demonstrated.
