04/10/2012 : 15:57

Dr. Uwe L. Haass, CoTeSys General Manager, will give a talk at Hannover Fair on April, 25 2012 on "Challenges and Potentials for The Next Generation of Service Robots".

At the Robotics, Automation & Vision Forum at Hannover Fair, Dr. Haass will present a panel discussion on the topic: Does the mobility of a robot conflict with security matters? The participating speakers are: Dr. Norbert Elkmann, Fraunhofer IFF, Silke Schael, Götting KG, Prof. Dr. Klaus Schilling, Universität Würzburg, Dr. Nicola Tomatis, Bluebotics. The discussion takes place in hall 17, C38 from 13:00 - 13:45.

At 14:00 Dr. Haass will then give a talk on "Challenges and Potentials for The Next Generation of Service Robots". Service robots are expected to be a new growth industry with many innovative products and services. But before robots truly assist humans at work, or in daily life, especially when suffering from handicaps, several technological revolutions are required, from new materials over energy sources to ICT, sensors, and new forms of actuators. It has been recognized that progress will rely on collaboration among many disciplines, engineering technologies, and also innovative ways for cooperation between industry and academe.

At the Forum experts and users give talks on praxis-oriented issues in robotics, automation and industrial vision. The Forum is part of the: Application Park Robotics & Automation.
