French Amabassador visits CoTeSys

The French Ambassador of the French Republic Maurice Gourdault-Montagne visited the Cluster of Excellence CoTeSys on January 16th, 2012.

The Ambassador of the French Republic to Germany, Maurice Gourdault-Montagne, visited the Cluster of Excellence CoTeSys during his one-day stay at the Technische Universität München last Monday. In the CoTeSys Central Robotic Laboratory, General Manager Dr. Uwe Haass and Principal Investigator Prof. Sandra Hirche explained to him the advantage of working in an interdisciplinary research project. CoTeSys is one of the largest projects in the field of cognitive sciences, with the broadest span of academic fields involved. Apart from being presented work in the Multi-Joint Action lab, in which human-robot interaction with several robots and several humans is investigated, the ambassador was also greeted by Nao, a humanoid robot produced by a French company, that was presented to him by PhD student John Nassour from the Institute of Cognivitive Systems/TUM.
