CoTeSys belongs to the 47 Bavarian award winners in the competition "365 Selected Landmarks in the Land of Ideas".

CoTeSys belongs to the 47 Bavarian award winners in the competition “365 Selected Landmarks in the Land of Ideas”. At a reception in the state chancellery Minister of State Dr. Marcel Huber welcomed everybody whose projects and ideas are exemplary for the innovation and commitment in Bavaria.

In order to promote and visualize this potential the initiative “Germany – Land of Ideas” and Deutsche Bank have been conducting this competition since 2006. CoTeSys has been selected for its approach to make the general public aware of the state-of-the-art in robotics, and to juxtapose realistic applications and scenarios with what is known only in science fiction. To this aim, CoTeSys opens its Central Laboratories to the general public on July 22nd, 2011, watch the robots in demonstrations and discuss further developments in robotics with researchers. Further information on the programme will be published soon.

Minister of State Dr. Huber congratulated CoTeSys and handed Dr. Haass a certificate signed by German Federal President Christian Wulff, who is the patron of the competition. Dr. Huber honored the winners as “leaders in innovation and important motors for strengthening the international competitiveness as well as the further development of Bavaria”. Dr. Uwe Haass, General Manager of CoTeSys, thanked the jury for the decision and explained that “no technical machines are being addressed with more myth, awe, anxiety, or expectations than robots. CoTeSys wants to open it doors and tell everybody what robots can do for our society. This is to create awareness and allow participation in the further development”.
